This qualification is from the Health Training Package and covers workers who provide first response care in line with Australian Resuscitation Council Guidelines. This course is designed for an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) who provides first response care anywhere within Australia. It is especially suited for mine rescuers, fire fighters, road rescuers, tour operators, and security personnel.
Students will develop skills in a range of areas including responding to the major incident, management of the medical room, advanced airway techniques and administration of oxygen to the casualty.
The Certificate II in Emergency First Response is 115 Hours in total, and comprises of both in-class learning and practical experience. Essential knowledge will be assessed through written work and essential skills will be assessed through practical scenario demonstration.
This course provides successful candidates with the appropriate qualification for entry to the Emergency First Responder role. This certificate will enable the holder to respond confidently and appropriately to emergency settings in a variety of workplaces.
Students wishing to continue their professional pathway can upgrade to the Certificate IV in Ambulance.
